Ridiculous

Could I BE any more lazy about posting? The answer to that rhetorical question is, of course, "NO." Wait, is there even an answer to a rhetorical question? I don't care.

Want to hear about my good intentions for posting? I'll tell you everything that I was going to write and then you can be all who-cares-cause-you-never-wrote-it and what not. I still plan on blogging about my road trip to Lexington because it was pure awesome, but that has to be accompanied by pictures to really tell the full story. As it is, I've had my camera at several events and haven't snapped picture one. Lame! So I was going to blog about Lexington (still will...eventually) and I was going to blog about going to the Gold Cup races and I was going to follow up on my Bucket List blog and tell you how I'd been so productive and accomplished everything................but I won't. Cause I'm lazy, or haven't you noticed?

However! Something miraculous has happened. Roomie K is back in town. That's right! Back from Lome, Togo, Africa by way of Paris, France, Europe. The house is complete again and it's fun as all get out. It almost seems like she was never gone cause we all picked back up right where we left off. Well, except for the fact that the house is sporting some lovely flower gardens and hanging baskets - these are the kinds of nice touches that the rest of us roommates are too lazy (overuse that word much?) to do anything about. Except Roomie W. He mows the lawn. So! Back to basics.

We have cornhole now. That's right! Best lawn game ever. If you're not familiar, you should be. And buy a set. It's totally worth it. Friday night we had some friends over to the house for bleu cheese bacon burgers and cornhole in the back yard. It was amazing! I'll refer to this again later when I tell you all about my summer goals. Slash summer bucket list, cause booyah!, my pastor used "bucket list" in the same way I did a couple months ago and Barron you can just put that in your pipe and smoke it! Mwaaaaahahahahaha! Ahem. Anyhoo...

Okay, summer goals. Now that Memorial Day Weekend is almost here, and therefore summer is upon us, my roommates and I are coming up with the best ways ever to spend the summer. Now, this summer is much more important than previous ones I've spent in DC because it will be my last summer with these roommates. That's right, at the end of the summer Roomie K will be moving out and the rest of us will have to find someone else to fill her shoes. Impossible, but we'll try. So since we know this is the last summer for 107 and the PHC, we definitely have to live it up and do all sorts of fun things. Fun things such as....
  • going to NYC
  • tubing in the Shenandoah
  • going to the beach!!!
  • DC United game (taking care of that Wednesday, booyah!, vs. AC Milan, double booyah!)
  • Nats game
  • having people over all the time for grilling out and playing cornhole and ladder ball
  • finding a pool to frequent
  • and more...
So yeah, there's a lot on the list. Oooo, I also want to go to a concert or two. There's so much to do. Oh! And attend the Rosslyn outdoor film festival which, this summer, features 90s movies, YES! And I will make a real commitment to blog more frequently about the happenings around here. You three faithful readers will get every juicy detail of my summer. Ha!

Hold up, I have another couple stories for you. Saturday afternoon Roomies W & K and I all sat out on the front porch for a few hours to talk and eat and drink and generally be merry. Well, we ended up all taking naps on the front porch. Roomie W was on the porch swing, Roomie K was on the iron bench, and I was sitting on a chair with my feet propped up in the table, sawing some Z's and listening to the rain. Yeah, I want summer to be like that. Just hanging out, listening to music, napping on the porch. Sunday after my last morning as Team Leader in the Babies/Pre-K ministry (I've taken a step back from that leadership role so I can volunteer in the classroom again...I don't like being in charge), I practiced frantically for half an hour before heading out to Falls Church, VA, to play Borodin's 2nd string quartet with a group of musicians I know. We worked on the first movement for 2 hours! And we'll be meeting again in the next couple months to work on the other movements. Let me tell you, it's so great to play good music with people who enjoy it. And this group is pretty equally matched ability-wise so it's a challenge to play with them, which is good. Cut to me practicing more this summer. OH! Speaking of practicing, I also might be joining a church orchestra for their production of Les Miserables next winter. Yes, I am getting involved. Booyah!

Let me just say, now that the "Bucket List Era" of Roomie-K-being-gone is over, I feel like I've accomplished a lot and am ready for the summer. I stuck to my guns and kept myself from going all hermit and boring. It was a pain sometimes, but it was totally worth it. Now I'm primed and ready for the best summer of life. Summer 2010. It's going to be good.

I'll keep you posted.

P.S. Um, wow. There are more booyahs and exclamation marks in this blog than I care to count. Dash.
